This was one of our best bar experience in Kyoto. The food was great for the price, and the drinks were very affordable. They had a big menu and everything were great! Especially the fried oysters, tamago, aji-fry (fried fish). The warm sake was amazing and it only costs 400 yen per carafe! This is a pretty small bar and is very popular amongst locals so do come at an off peak time. We visited the bar at 3pm and it was full (luckily a few people left just in time that made space for us). There is an English menu but don't expect people there to speak much English.

Very thick sashimi cuts and big roll portions.. but very very tasty, one of the best nigiri and tuna rolls I had. Cramped place, seems to be frequented by locals with uncommon menu options Absolutely recommended

Quán đứng, nhỏ, rẻ Quán bán đồ nhậu kiểu Nhật và dành cho dân bản địa. Quán có menu bằng tiếng Anh. Nên đến thử nếu muốn uống rượu và ăn nhậu kiểu Nhật Đồ uống rất nhiều mà rẻ. Gọi 1 Cốc rượu Sochu là đủ to để nhâm nhi cả buổi ( như trong hình là 1 cốc Sochu, 1 cốc whisky, giá khoảng 200 yên 1 cốc)

This place is great. The food is incredible. The prices are cheap. And, the staff is fun. They even have an English menu. If you don’t know the Japanese name, point and say how many. They’ll understand. There’s a good chance you’ll need to wait to get in. It’s very small but don’t let the wait deter you. This place is definitely worth it. It’s a real gem in Kyoto.

Classical Japanese restaurant, standing eating and drinking. Good food and good price, highly recommend. However, smoking allowed which is the only thing I don't like.

Hilarious place - after 9pm be sure to meet some happy tipsy locals that help you make orders. Food was fantastic, big fish portions, very tasty and had great fun chatting with other guests!

Obviously do not come with a group of more than... 3 people — there is standing room for about 2 dozen people max. If you are a foreigner prepare to be looked at or remarked on. But people will probably be friendly if you feel like starting a conversation. The food was also excellent — fried oyster (カキフライ) especially, as well as any sashimi (造り) you can get your hands on. Also when was the last time you went to a Japanese restaurant where all the basic drinks were under ¥300??
